Who can take the Drive Test with Us?
Central Texas Driving School is a DPS-authorized Third Party Testing site, so you can take your official Texas road test with us and SKIP THE MESS AT THE DPS.
You may be eligible if you are:
A teen age 16+ who has completed the required driver education
An adult who has never been licensed or whose license has expired
Active military returning from service with an expired license
Someone whose license expired during incarceration
A driver who has completed the required driver education and is ready to test

For most eligible drivers, we upload your paperwork directly to DPS, so you don’t have to return to a DPS office.If you’re not eligible, no worries—we’ll prepare your completed paperwork to take to DPS.

Private Lessons - $100 per Hour

Work one-on-one with an experienced instructor who will:

Perfect for new drivers, nervous drivers, or anyone who needs a refresher or extra practice.
Private Instruction • Behind the Wheel • $100/Hour
🗓️ Once you have scheduled online or over the phone, you can click the reschedule button in the automated email to change your appointment. Please note that appointments must be changed more than 24 hours in advance or a no-show fee of $50 will be assigned.

🧾 Teen Drive Test – What to Bring
To take your Teen Drive Test with Central Texas Driving School, please make sure you meet the following requirements and bring all necessary documents:
✅ Eligibility Requirements
Must be at least 16 years old
Must have held a learner’s license for a minimum of 6 months
(Check the date on the back of your permit!)
📄 Required Documents
DE-964 Certificate – Must be titled “For Driver License Only”
Impact Texas Teen Drivers (ITTD) Certificate –
Must be printed
Can be completed at: impacttexasdrivers.dps.texas.gov
⚠️ This video takes approximately 2 hours and the certificate expires after 90 days — double-check the date!
The IMPACT video must be the LAST thing completed prior to testing. Check the dates!
State of Texas Account – You must create an account so we can process your paperwork
(You’ll receive instructions on how to do this when you schedule your test.)Completed Application – Provided during scheduling if needed
Your Learner’s Permit
A Parent or Legal Guardian – Must be present at the time of testing
All documents must be printed prior to student arrival. There is a $20 fee for our office staff to print off needed documents.
🧾 Adult Drive Test – What to Bring
To take your Adult Drive Test with Central Texas Driving School, you must meet all state requirements and bring the following documents with you on test day:

Must be 18 years or older
Must have completed a 6-hour Adult Driver Education Course
📄 Required Documents
ADE-1317 Certificate – Adult Driver Education Completion Certificate
(Must be printed and brought with you)Impact Texas Young Drivers (ITYD) Certificate –

This must be the FINAL thing done prior to testing.
Texas State Account –
Create your State of Texas account before your test. This allows us to process your paperwork. Instructions will be provided when you schedule.Completed Application – Provided if needed
Learner’s Permit (Instruction Permit) –
🛑 All adult testers MUST have a valid Texas learner’s permit to take a drive test anywhere in the state.All documents must be printed prior to student arrival. There is a $20 fee for our office staff to print off needed documents.
⚠️ Important Notes & Policies
Students from other driving schools and Parent Taught Programs are welcome to test with us!
The drive test fee reserves your time slot only and does not guarantee a passing grade.
If you miss your appointment or arrive without required paperwork, your test fee will be forfeited.
If your paperwork is incomplete or you do not pass the test, you may reschedule for a discounted rate of $70 (valid for 30 days).
If you cancel more than 24 hours in advance, your test may be rescheduled within one month of the original test date.

All private lessons must be cancelled more than 24 hours in advance or a no-show fee of $50 will be assessed. For weekend cancellations, students/parents can go to their email portal and reschedule by clicking the reschedule button.
